As the owners of Whingate Ltd were concerned about accessing information from there increasingly technological systems whenever they were off site, they tasked me with providing them with a means of accessing there systems from anywhere in the world via a laptop or internet cafe.
I set up firewall rules and installed a popular VNC remote control software on the systems in the office and on the Laptops. I set the software up to use Encryption for safety and to be accessible via a client and also via a web browser. I then trained the boss in the use of this software and also in the use of the 3G connection for her Laptop so that she could access the systems even when not in range of a WIFI hotspot or an internet cafe.
